Meet..Himalayan Pink Salt! 

Years ago, I ditched white table salt for this much healthier (and tastier) salt..and I would never go back! Similar to the natural nutrients and vitamins found in fruits and vegetables, Himalayan pink salt offers those same benefits, naturally as opposed to refined white table salt which contains harmful additives.

So, why ditch white table salt for this pure Himalayan Pink Salt?

Pink Salt vs. White Salt

Himalayan pink salt contains iodine naturally. Natural salts like Himalayan Pink Salt are rich in iodine, so it doesn’t need to be artificially added in. Iodine helps to promote a normal and healthy functioning thyroid gland, which secretes thyroid hormones that control the metabolic rate of the body. In fact, without iodine, thyroid hormones could not even be synthesized.

Over 80+ minerals and elements can be found in Himalayan pink salt. Himalayan salts are mineral packed crystals which formed naturally within the earth made up of 85.62% sodium chloride and 14.38% other trace minerals including: sulphate, magnesium, calcium, potassium, bicarbonate, bromide, borate, and strontium, and fluoride (in descending order of quantity). *Naturally occurring fluoride is much different than the added fluoride found in our drinking water.

Himalayan pink salt contains less sodium consumed per serving versus refined table salts. Himalayan salt is made of the same components as table salt but since the crystal structure is larger than refined salt, and by volume- this salt therefore has less sodium per 1/4 t. serving- because the sea salt crystals or flakes take up less room on a teaspoon than highly refined tiny table salt grains.
