Why Pineapple-Mango Salsa?
Pineapple and mango are a match made in heaven. Their sweet and tangy profiles complement each other beautifully, creating a salsa that’s both refreshing and addictive. This salsa is incredibly versatile: you can serve it with tortilla chips, as a topping for grilled fish or chicken, or even mix it into a salad for a tropical twist.
here’s what you’ll need:
::ingredients::
- 1 cup fresh pineapple, diced
- 1 cup fresh mango, diced
- 1/2 red bell pepper, diced
- 1/4 red onion, finely chopped
- 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced (optional, for a bit of heat)
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- Juice of 1 lime
- Salt to taste
directions::
1. prep the ingredients:
Start by dicing the pineapple and mango into small, bite-sized pieces.
2. mix the fruits and vegetables:
in a large bowl, combine the diced pineapple, mango, red bell pepper, and red onion. If you’re using jalapeño, add it in now! the bell pepper and onion add a nice crunch and a bit of savory balance to the sweet fruits.
3. add Cilantro + lime:
chop the cilantro and add it to the bowl. squeeze the juice of one lime over the mixture. the lime juice not only adds a tangy kick but also helps to meld the flavors together!
4. season to taste:
Sprinkle a little pink salt over the salsa and give it a good stir. taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary. if you like it spicier, add more jalapeño or a dash of hot sauce.
5. chill + serve:
For the best flavor, let the salsa chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to blend and develop.
