Super Simple Strawberry Salsa

This is absolute perfect end of summer BBQ side dish! As we close out the summer season, we may want to spice up the traditional side dishes we’ve come to expect at get togethers, or perhaps you’re looking for a fresh healthier snack for your perfect night in – so, switch out the usual chips and tomato salsa with this super simple strawberry salsa!

While this recipe is a fresh take on traditional tomato salsa, it’s loaded with nutritional benefits that your body will thank you for! Strawberries are an excellent source of Vitamin C which is key for a strong immune system to fight off disease. On top of the antioxidants found in strawberries which can help keep a youthful glow to your skin, but will also prevent cancer.

Red onion has been proven to prevent breast cancer. A compound called delphinidin (which is also found in blueberries, black currants and cranberries) is a powerful anti-inflammatory that can help reduce the risk of several types of cancers, especially breast cancer. Onions are also naturally anti-fungal and antibacterial, and helps detoxification of the blood, and helps reduce bad cholesterol.

Cilantro is perhaps the most powerful herb there is. Cilantro is a powerful heavy metal detoxifier for the human body and while we are faced with toxins like aluminum, fluoride and mercury invading our systems on a daily basis, it is essential to increase our consumption of cilantro. Cilantro binds to toxins in the blood and carries them out of the body. On top of detoxification, it has also shown to remedy anxiety, help improve sleep, and can reverse symptoms of diabetes.


Super Simple Strawberry Salsa Ingredients: -1 cup chopped organic strawberries -1/2 diced red onion -3 tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon juice -2 tablespoons fresh squeezed lime juice -hearty handful of organic cilantro -pinch of himalayan pink salt -2 tablespoon organic balsamic vinegar/honey *optional: depending on your taste*

Directions: -Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix. -Cover and set in refrigerator for 10 minutes before serving. -THAT’S IT! Told ya it was super simple
