In the warmer months of the year, I like to break-fast with sliced citrus followed by a hearty smoothie that supports brain function. This smoothie is packed with anti-inflammatory properties that help just that! Wild blueberries are a potent source of antioxidants that help to perk you up and start your day on the right track, while walnuts are a great source of omegas, and protein.
Wild Blueberry Breakfast Smoothie
Ingredients:
-1 banana (frozen or not)
-A heaping handful of frozen wild blueberries
-A spoonful of almond butter (optional)*
-1/2 cup of organic walnuts
-A sprinkle of hemp seeds & cacao nibs
-A squeeze of flax oil (optional)*
-1/2 cup of almond milk
Directions:
-Add all ingredients to a high speed blender
-Blend for until all ingredients are well combined
-Enjoy!
